Following a competitive pitch while working at Cube Creative Ltd, we were awarded the contract to support the Trust in the naming, branding and marketing of what is now called The Rowan Suite. This new facility gives patients access to private care services within the NHS hospital giving better and wider care choices to patients.
The brief was to look at how the new facility would be named and then once a name had been chosen, how the brand and visual style might look. I needed to consider a series of factors including how to ensure that patients understood that the facility was still part of the overall LHCH service (For this I kept the current hospital colour palette). I also had to factor in the use of NHS guidelines and how the name would work for international clients that the hospital wanted to attract. I produced a series of translated logos for overseas use, plus complete brand guidelines.
The graphic was created to represent both heart and lungs, but keep the theme of trees that the other Hospital ward names adopt. The style was also popular as many people wanted a classic yet modern look and feel (I also hosted a focus group to ascertain patient and staff feedback on initial ideas). The graphic gives an air of trust and quality as if it was an old 19th century publishers mark. With the sans font accompanying the graphic, this balances the old and new.
I also produced the creative, framework and built The Rowan Suites new CMS driven website templates, as well as the full branding https://www.therowansuite.co.uk/
